Gulf State Park

Gulf Shores, AL

Gulf State Park:  http://www.alapark.com/gulfstate/

Overview:  We love this park!  It is a very big park with tons of hiking/biking trails and amenities.  And best yet it is minutes to the white sand beaches of the Gulf of Mexico!  The park is run very well and well maintained.  We had a lovely pull-through site on the canal.  It was very private and gives you the feeling of being in nature.  (We even came within 20 feet of an Alabama bobcat.)  In addition, the sunsets are amazing.

Campsites:  Level, paved sites with full hook-ups (30/50 amp, water, sewer), lakefront/canal front sites available, back in and pull through sites, good spacing providing private setting

Amenities:  Pool, nature center, tennis courts, beach volleyball courts, activity center, camp store, bath houses, laundry facilities, bicycle rental, outdoor amphitheater, tons of hiking/biking trails (paved and natural), minutes to walk or bike to the beach, fishing pier and beach pavilion.  Cabin rentals are also available in the park.

Pet friendly:  Yes, however pets are not allowed on the beach (all hiking trails are ok).

Internet:  Wi-Fi available, however it wasn’t working at our site

Price:  $30-40/night, winter (December – February) monthly rates available ($475-600/month)

Rating: 5/5
