Celebrating family and accomplishments in New York

May 28-June 7, 2014

Angie’ s graduation from medical school was on June 2 in New York City, so Angie and I bid farewell to Wade, Wizard, and Raja and flew out of Salt Lake City Airport for Syracuse, NY.  Before we headed to NYC for the graduation festivities I had an important meet and greet with my new nephew, Tyler.  He is an amazing little fellow!  I even got to witness some of his first smiles.  I also got to love on my nieces, Maegan and Emily.  They are SO much fun!

Next, I had some business to do.  I hosted a Discover Arbonne party at Heidi and Ian’s house.  Thank you for everyone who came!  I really enjoyed spending time with all of you.  What a great business that allows you to gather friends and relatives and call it ‘work’.

Next on our agenda was to head to NYC.  My dad, Roger, my mom, Shari, their Icelandic foreign exchange student, Maria, my grandmother, Agnes, Angie, Angie’s boyfriend, Chris, and I all piled into the minivan and headed on our way. My brother Ian and his two girls, Maegan and Emily followed behind us.  We stayed at a nice hotel just two blocks from Central Park.  Upon arrival and check-in, we headed to Shake Shack in Madison Square Park for delicious burgers, shakes, and views of the Empire State Building.  Maegan and Emily really enjoyed the playground and the subway ride.  In the evening, Angie, Chris, my Mom, and I had cocktails in a rooftop bar overlooking Central Park.

The following morning the girls loved running free and climbing rocks in Central Park.  Then we headed to the historic Apollo Theater (https://www.apollotheater.org/) for Angie’s graduation from Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine.    I am so proud of my little sister! She is going to be an amazing, compassionate doctor!  Now there are two Dr. Elliott’s in the family J We enjoyed a nice celebratory dinner and reveled in all of Angie’s accomplishments!

Before we left NYC we had one last meal at one of my favorite NYC establishments, Katz Delicatessen .  Yum, pastrami sandwiches…

The rest of my time in New York was spent catching up with family and friends. I even got to watch Maegan in one of her youth soccer games.  She is a future soccer star in the making.  I always enjoy June in Central New York.  I also said goodbye, for now, to Maria.  She graduated from DeRuyter Central School on June 29 and is now back in Iceland.  She will always be a welcomed member of the Elliott Clan![/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
