Overview: This is a very nice RV Park outside of Salmon, Idaho. It is located right on the scenic Salmon River! The views cannot be beat! In fact there was an active bald eagle’s nest right across the river from the campground. I cannot emphasize enough the greatness of this location. Having said that, there is no cell phone service here. The campground does provide free Wi-Fi (variable reliability) and if you have Verizon you may be able to use that service at the camp store. It is about a 15-minute drive to downtown Salmon. The local area is full of outdoor and scenic/historic activities (Lewis and Clark Trail). We loved our stay here!
Campsites: Gravel or grass fairly level sites. River front sites have amazing views as you are within 10 feet of the Salmon River! River front sites have electric (50/30 amp) and water. Second row sites have full hook-ups (50/30 amp, water, and sewer). Most sites have a picnic table and each one has a fire-pit. Some fire-pits are permanent while others are movable (i.e. washing machine drum on a base). The sites are pretty close and most don’t have shade. They definitely use all the riverfront space available and tightly pack in the RVs. However, there is a lot of green space throughout the campground.
Amenities: Bathhouses (beautiful and modern), gift shop, community room with almost daily activities, fishing supplies, and lots of river access!
Pet friendly: Yes. They have a large island (several acres) where they allow dogs off leash! Wizard loved the island!
Internet: Campground Wi-Fi available. There is NO phone service here!
